Busy Roads in Peachtree City and Fayetteville

Busy Roads in Peachtree City and Fayetteville

Many Fayette County drivers use the same handful of roads every day. Knowing the road helps us figure out who investigated the crash and where to find the report.

GA-54 and GA-74

GA-54 crosses Line Creek from Coweta County into Peachtree City, then curves east into Fayetteville. In Peachtree City it meets GA-74, also called Joel Cowan Parkway. GA-74 runs north through Tyrone toward I-85 in Fairburn and south to Starrs Mill, where it meets GA-85. Both are state routes that carry commuters, delivery vans and tractor-trailers.

GA-85 and GA-314 in Fayetteville

In Fayetteville, GA-85 runs through town as Glynn Street and shares the road with GA-92 for a stretch. North of town, GA-314 (West Fayetteville Road) heads north toward College Park and the airport area.

Hwy 34 and the Coweta County Line

GA-34 runs east from Newnan, crosses I-85, and ends at GA-54 just west of Peachtree City. The GA-34 Bypass is in Newnan, in Coweta County. If your crash happened on the Coweta side of the line, a different police agency and a different county court may be involved. We can help sort that out.

Peachtree Parkway, Crosstown Road and Nearby I-85

Inside Peachtree City, streets like Peachtree Parkway and Crosstown Road connect neighborhoods and shops to GA-54 and GA-74. I-85 does not run through Fayette County, but drivers can reach it by GA-74 in Fairburn or GA-34 in Newnan.

Golf Carts and Multi-Use Paths in Peachtree City

Golf Carts and Multi-Use Paths in Peachtree City

Peachtree City says it has more than 100 miles of shared-use paths and more than 10,000 golf carts. Carts, walkers and bikes share the paths, and carts also cross city streets and state routes. A golf cart gives its riders far less protection than a car, so a crash at a crossing can cause serious injuries.

Where Carts Can Cross Roads

Georgia law says carts may cross a road that is part of the state highway system only at a crossing designated for that purpose. The crossing must be built as an active grade crossing and marked with a W11-11 warning sign that drivers can see from both directions (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-331(d)(1)). On city and county streets, carts may cross only at crossings or intersections the local government has designated (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-331(d)(2)).

Registration With the City

Peachtree City requires carts to be registered with the city within 10 days of purchase. Under the city’s current rules, decals go on both the front and rear of the cart. Learn more in our guide to golf cart accidents in Georgia.

Truck Crashes on Fayette County Roads

Truck Crashes on Fayette County Roads

Tractor-trailers share GA-54, GA-74 and GA-85 with local traffic. A crash with a large truck often involves more than one company, such as the driver’s employer and its insurer.

Insurance-Side Experience

Before founding the firm, Jonathan spent two and a half years on the insurance side of commercial truck, tractor-trailer and medical transport van cases. He saw how those claims are reviewed from the inside. Now he uses that experience only for injured people.

Records That Can Disappear

Trucking companies may keep driver files, maintenance records and electronic data from the truck. Some of that can be lost or overwritten if no one asks for it. Reach out early so there is time to ask the company to keep it.

Deadlines for Fayette County Crash Claims

Deadlines for Fayette County Crash Claims

In most Georgia injury cases, you have two years from the crash to file a lawsuit (O.C.G.A. § 9-3-33). Talking with an adjuster does not stop that clock. Some claims, such as those against a government, can have shorter notice rules, so do not wait.
